Webinar: Aeroelastic simulation of a wind turbine blade using Alya HPC
Accurate aeroelastic modeling of wind turbine blades is crucial in the design of large-scale blades. In this webinar, a numerical framework combining the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Computational Structural Dynamics (CSD) solvers from Alya HPC code is presented. A 3D turbulent test of a full 30m wind turbine blade is analyzed to show the applicability of the coupling scheme in the context of Large-eddy simulations (LES). The talk will compare the use of different solvers for the solid mechanics problem and also will show computational global efficiency using the Dynamic Load Balancing (DLB) strategy.
